i have had sinus problems my entire life, recently a friend told me about this sinu-cleanse thing, its a sinus cleansing treatment that you can get at cvs pharmacy, its pretty cool, its a little pot that you mix warm water with saline solution and put in one nostral and it drains out the other, the first time i used it i had a bad sinus head ache and thought well i will give this thing a try, so i mixed it up and did the treatment, blood clots and pink then red water started coming out of my nose, and after i noticed my headache was gone, i could breath great, and felt a lot less pressure in my head.
this thing is pretty awesome!
just thought i share with all of you.. sorry if its a bit gross.
I can vouch for it also. I developed a sinus infection that lasted over a year; I eventually had sinus surgery. I had to perform nasal lavage two to three times daily after surgery. My doctor recommended adding a little baking soda as a buffer.
My outcome is even better than I expected; now I get one, sometimes two sinus infections a year, which clear up easily with antibiotics.

we hadn't been close in a number of years, due to me becoming inactive, but i remember alot of the good times too.
she was older than me and offered to study with me when i was 14, which led to my getting baptized.. i remember that she tried for several years to get pregnant, and how happy she was when she finally conceived.

Wow. I haven't looked at this thread again until today. I find it interesting how many posters still sound like JWs. JWs do not see individuals; they see groups. Then, JWs categorize these groups into "good" and "bad." When I speak to JWs, and I mention a postive story about...say a Catholic priest...they are quick to point out how that it doesn't matter because...insert angry, judgemental, prejudicial remark here. If I dare say that there are ANY good people among the ranks of JWs on this DB, some posters are quick to point out that it doesn't matter because...insert angry, judgemental, prejudicial remark here.
And as for my "lesson", think back to all those meeting wherein a brother or sister would talk about how the world is going to learn is "lesson" soon, and then they will find out JWs are right! And wouldn't everyone "LOL?" When I hear such nonsense at meetings, it makes me ill. When I read such comments on this DB, it makes me rather sad. It seems some of you have given up so much, but it hasn't lead you to become more gentle people.
I guess sometimes you can take the person out of the KH, but you can't take the KH out of the person.

i have had time to think about this........... i was an attendent for many years.......... and looking up and down the rows at every family that was seating there in the khs........... no one was happy!.
i think of my mother (who brought this religion into our house)......she was one of the most unhappy and miserable people you would ever meet!
she was a spiritual orphan with few friends and no real family to speak of.. she got the "good news" back in 1950, that "the world" was a bad place and god, would soon be killing most everyone......she was thrilled!...............
I don't think it is JW specific; I think unhappy people are generally attracted to religion, especially the more fundamentalist religions. These are people who are not functioning at a very high level in society. They are viewed as low achievers by society, then, via the magic of religion, they transform from being "losers" to being "God's special people."

I brought this issue up at bookstudy last week. A sister in my cargroup out in service breached the subject yet again today. My cargroup consisted of our Watchtower conductor, his regular pioneer wife, an ex pioneer (whose dad is a CO), another sister and myself. This sister was amazed last week when I pronounced that, according to JW dogma, Jesus is not out mediator. She asked for my proof, and I mailed her the QFR posted in this thread. Interestingly, NO ONE in the car group believes that doctrine is correct,and everyone stated so publicly.
R&F are fast developing the ability to think for themselves. This is the greates challenge the GB will face.

2 vs 5,6 states that "there is one mediator between god and men, a man, christ jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all".
I find it offensive, and I do not believe it.
However, the vast majority of JWs do not even know that is the belief. Last week, at bookstudy, there was a paragraph that taught that we pray TO Jehovah, THROUGH Jesus. A brother went off in his comment how Jesus is our mediation, yada yada, yada, and then the bookstudy conductor took up the same line of reasoning and ran with it.
After the conductor finished, I raised my hand and simply stated: "Jesus is not our mediator." I paused to let it hang; you could have heard a pin drop. Then I went on to explain the WTBTS's position. There were lots of surpised people commenting on it after the meeting. If it gets them researching...that's a good thing.

I play with rattlesnakes all day long. I find the ones at the KH to be less adept than their worldy counterparts. However, my experience with them is why nobody, inside or outside of the organization, get's 'inside my buckskin shirt.' ...just call it an occupational disease.
